Find files & directory quickly

One of the most handy commands I use to find my stuff is:

$ find / | grep "part_of_file_name"

There’s another equivalent command:

$ find / -name "part_of_file_name"

but somehow, it doesn’t output correctly if there is any directory that my current logged-in user not having permission

Cheers,

Pete Houston
