Project Euler – Problem 1

Homepagehttp://projecteuler.net/problem=1

Problem:

If we list all the natural numbers below 10 that are multiples of 3 or 5, we get 3, 5, 6 and 9. The sum of these multiples is 23.

Find the sum of all the multiples of 3 or 5 below 1000.

How I solve:
– I do it in one-line Python 🙂

#!/usr/bin/python
print sum([i for i in xrange(1, 1000) if i % 3 == 0 or i % 5 == 0])

– Another sample version in C

long Calculate() {
	int i = 0;
	long sum = 0;
	for(; i < 1000; ++i)
		if (i % 3 == 0 || i % 5 == 0) sum += i;

	return sum;
}

Cheers,
Pete Houston
